First Superior General - 1981 – 1992

Sr. Mary Sebastian was appointed as the First Superior General after her final commitment in the year 1981 by our Founder himself. At that time, the Founder was the one who guided and took the congregation to great heights, with the full collaboration of Rev. Sr. Mary Sebastian. Father appointed her to take responsibility for the spiritual formation of the members.

Second Superior General - 1992 -1997

In the year 1992 Rev. Sr. Victoria Peter was appointed by our Founder as the second Superior General. Founder himself was the deciding authority till his time and there were no canonical election of Superior General was held.

Third General Superior General - 1997 – 2009

In the year 1997, on December 27th we had our first Canonical Election Chapter as planned by Msgr. John Kottaram. Rev Fr. Rosario Krishna Raj SDB, the delegate of the then Archbishop Arul Das James, prepared nearly 40 elected delegates for three days for the election of the chapter; and Rev. Fr. Thumma, canonist of the Archdiocese of Madras Mylapore, was present. On December 29th, Rev. Sr. Jessy P.D was canonically elected the third Superior General, Sr. Alice Peter, the first Councilor as Asst. superior General and Sr. Arockia Mary, Sr. Hilda Mary and Sr. Liza Isaac as councilors.

Fourth Superior General – 2009 –

From the 28th of November to the 7th of December, the third General Chapter was conducted under the guidance of Rev. Fr. Micheal Jayaraj SJ, the Ex-Provincial of SJ and Rev. Sr. David Delaney. The delegates elected for the chapter were 36 and members by right were 9 and the Superiors who were not delegates were present. In total, 61 sisters were present for the third General Chapter under the theme “Called to Empower Families”. Rev. Sr. Alice Peter was elected as Superior General and Sr. Maga Rani, Asst. Sup. General, Srs. Cicily PL, Hilda Mary and Celine Kurian were elected as Councilors. Rev. Sr. Alice Peter took charge on the 22nd of December, 2009. The councilors were given the following portfolios; Sr. Maga Rani – Finance coordinator, Sr. Cicily P L – Education coordinator, Sr. Hilda Mary – Vocation and Formation coordinator, Sr. Celine Kurian – Socio, Pastoral and Health coordinator. Each councilor was given in charge of Different Regions such as Central Region, North Chennai Region, South Chennai Region, South Tamil Nadu Region and the rest of the houses under Superior General. From the year 2010 June onwards, all the councilors shifted their residence to Generalate.
